Ralph J. Obringer, 96, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017 at his home in Wolcottville, IN where he lived with his daughter for the last year. He was born May 12, 1921 to the late Frank F and Verna M Obringer in Fort Wayne, IN. He lived fpr seven years in Springfield, MO. He graduated from South Side HS 1939. He served in World War II on a naval ship in the South Pacific and participated in many of the naval engagements of the Pacific War. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where he was a member of the Holy Name Society and a life member of Knights of Columbus council # 451. He was an Engineer at General Electric Company and retired in 1982 after 42 of service. He taught adult classes for several GE internal programs. He was an avid traveler and spent time in all 50 states and many foreign locations. Surviving are his children, Patricia M. Obringer of Wolcottville, IN;, Mark E. (Mary) Obringer of Jackson, WY; Julia A. Obringer of Hermitage, TN step-daughter, Susan (Steve) Blaugh of Auburn, IN; step-daughter, Kathy M. (Dave) Aschliman of Fort Wayne, IN; half-brother, Thomas Obringer of Goshen, IN; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren . Ralph was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary E. Obringer and second wife G. Pauline Obringer , step-mother, Gertrude Owen, brothers, George and John Obringer and sister, Marie C Reynolds. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am Thursday December 21, 2017, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church 4916 Trier Road Fort Wayne, IN, with calling one hour prior. Calling at Wednesday, December 20, 2017, from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 pm with a Vigil service at 3:30 pm. at D.O.
