Carol and I were nursing classmates at IMH. I am sad to think of Carol's passing but I am grateful for the opportunity to have shared scripture with Carol recently that we know that this is not the end but a new beginning. Caring thoughts of sympathy to Carol's family and with memories of a special person.

In our youth, cousin Carol and I were friends and mentors, as we looked to find a path through the labyrinth of growing up, and tried to figure out why those other teenagers were doing what teenagers do. Carol was a fine human being and made the world a better place.

Carol and I were classmates at the Illinois Masonic Hospital School of Nursing. My husband, Jim, and I attended Carol and Gary's wedding and maintained a friendship all these years, corresponding mainly at Christmas. I'm so glad I got to talk to her on the telephone the week before she died. She was a dedicated Christian, nurse, wife and mother. The world is a better place because she graced it.

Carol was an early friend when we moved to Ft. Wayne in 1973. Our daughter Jennifer and Carol's son Blaine are about the same age. We have stayed in touch all this time, and met occasionally in Las Vegas and Florida when she and Gary were there, too. She is a special lady and I will miss her.QWvmQ
