G. Ruth (Scott) Adams, passed away on January 2, 2018 at Lutheran Life Villages. She was born in Fort Wayne, IN on February 4, 1934, the daughter of the late John and Margaret Scott. Ruth attended North Side High School and graduated with the class of 1952, she went on to obtain an Associate's Degree in Mental Health Technology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from IU/PU in Fort Wayne. Ruth worked as a GTE telephone operator, at Salem Bank, the Allen County Clerk of Courts, Century 21, and various part time jobs. She was a Peer Counselor at the Fort Wayne Women's Bureau for 6 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed volunteering for a number of organizations including; Matthew 25, Allen County League for the Blind, American Red Cross, Muscular Dystrophy Association Summer Camp, ARC of North East, IN, Special Olympics in Terre Haute, Fort Wayne Christmas Bureau, and the Civic Theatre Guild. She was a member of New Haven United Methodist Church. Surviving are her sister, Georgia Jean Olwin of Paulding, OH; son, Jeff (Stephanie) Stephen of Angola, IN; daughter, Cinda (Kerry) Stephen-Meeks of Tampa, FL; stepdaughters, Linda Adams-Allard, Sharon Adams-Miller (Sam), Leslie Adams; grandsons, Dan (Amanda) Stephen, Sam Stephen, Connor Stephen, Andrew Meeks, Christopher Meeks, Jesse (Jill) Allard; granddaughters, Lindsay (Matt) Allard-Allen and Erin Adams; great-grandchildren, Xavier, Elizabeth, Jude, Evelyn and baby to be. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Lou Scott-Clark; and husband, Wendell Adams. Funeral Service will be at 2pm on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park, 4017 Maplecrest Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46815, with visitation 2 hours prior. Burial will take place in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shepherds House, and Visiting Nurses of Fort Wayne.
