Barbara Ellen Belote, 92, went to meet her Lord on the morning of January 20, 2018. She was born on June 3, 1925 in Desloge, MO, to Hubert and Nora Doud. Barbara was a long-time faithful member of Harvester Missionary Church where she served as Missions Board Chairman for many years. She enjoyed arranging flowers making sure the church was decorated appropriately for each season. Barbara stated that her love for her church reflects the fact that she has been "granted a profound experience of God's grace. I was filled with a joy unspeakable and full of glory. It is with me daily." She was an Embassy & Civic Theatre Volunteer, a member of the FW Genealogical Society, and the D.A.R. Barbara published a book on her family's genealogy. She enjoyed traveling to Europe and the Holy Lands. Surviving are her children; Robert (Linda) Johnson, Rev. Ron (Lyn) Johnson, Cheryl (Paul) Hines, Darlene Ford, Alan (Diana) Richard, Joyce (Ed) Kolberg, and Nyletta (Jerry) Hetrick; nephew, Royce Doud; 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren, although she thought they were all pretty great. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Merlin, Norman and Gloria. A celebration of life service will take place at 11am Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Harvester Missionary Church, 3331 Harvester Ave., Ft Wayne, IN 46803, with calling 1 hour prior. Visitation will take place from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Chapel, 4017 Maplecrest Rd., Ft Wayne, IN 46815. Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery, Ft Wayne, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to Harvester Church.
