James K. Boomer, 86, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, James was the son of the late Lowell and Gladys Boomer. James graduated from Lincoln High School and earned his bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nebraska. James served our country as a First Lt. in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a product manager with the Raytheon Corporation for 35 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, and American Radio Relay League. James enjoyed playing guitar, amateur radio, traveling, and driving his car. Surviving are his daughters, Beth (Mike) Bivins, Melissa (Rob) Kleber both of Louisville, KY; grandson, Adam Kleber of Louisville, KY; and brother, John (Lynn) Boomer of Lincoln, NE. James was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Boomer. Mass of Christian Burial is 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 12, 2017 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with calling one hour prior. Calling at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road Friday, August 11, 2017, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
