Jean Ledbetter, 90, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017 in Fort Wayne. Jean worked for NIPSCO for 26 years as a bookkeeper, and served as President of the United Steel Workers Union of America for NIPSCO. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Surviving are her two daughters, Linda Wirtzer of Northridge, CA and Mary (James) Brown of Hammond, IN; grandsons, Matthew (Hazel) Brown, Daniel (Amber) Brown, and Alex Wirtzer; and 5 great-grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, George Ledbetter; 5 brothers; and 1 sister. Service is 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 609 Putnam St with calling one hour prior. Calling also at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Rd onTuesday, January 2, 2018 from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
